Berkeley College® Online Provides Flexibility To Fashion Students
(Vocus) November 7, 2007 -- Berkeley College is pleased to announce that it has received approval to offer its popular Fashion Marketing & Management Associate?s and Bachelor?s degrees completely online.
?These are not just courses,? cites Berkeley College Online Dean Dr. Susan Biro. ?These are unique in that they are total online degree programs that combine the business of fashion with career preparation and placement.?
?The new online programs are for busy people ? most who are already working ? and want to take their careers to the next level,? says Berkeley College Chair of Fashion Marketing & Management Guy Adamo. ?These programs mirror Berkeley?s onsite Fashion Marketing and Management degree curriculum that includes a strong Liberal Arts component and is stimulating, innovative, and trendy.?
The Fashion Marketing and Management degree curriculum is designed with the help of an advisory board of industry professionals, including designers, product developers, buyers, and visual merchandisers, ensuring that graduates are well prepared to fill industry needs. Students are taught by professors with extensive experience and impressive credentials in the fashion industry.
Some of the required courses for both degrees include Introduction to the Fashion Business, Computer Applications for the Fashion Industry, Merchandise Planning and Buying, Fashion Forecasting, Home Merchandising, and Product Lifecycle Planning.

The new online Fashion Marketing and Management degree courses begin in January 2008, and students can enroll in the programs from any location in the world. After online fashion students complete their coursework, including internships, they are ready to enter careers in various merchandising areas such as visual merchandising, buying, allocation and planning and showroom sales.
